Often, Christians think that Pastors, Evangelists, and Missionaries are the only people on the Body of Christ responsible for preaching the Gospel. This is very wrong. A lot of believers use this false opinion to make excuses for their laziness. This is truly sad. Take a minute to really think about what Christ has done for you. If it wasn't for Jesus Christ, we would be destined to hell with no atonement for sin. In the Old testament, the law was all that Israel had for any chance of eternal life after life here on earth. The Law of Moses was not only strict, but had very little to no grace attached to it at all. I am so grateful that we live under the New Covenant of Christ Jesus and not the Old Testament Law of Moses. I can't even imagine how much harder it would have been back then to please God. One example of the Old Testament Law was tithing. If someone didn't tithe yearly accordingly to the law, that person would be cursed! This sounds harsh and extreme, yet that was the way it was back then! Before Christ came to the earth and fulfilled the Law by becoming sin for us and dying on the cross, grace was hardly a concept. God gave grace to people in the Old Testament, but it wasn't even in the same portion that we have now thanks to Jesus and His willingness to bridge the gap between us and the Father in Heaven. The Bible says that we have been set free from the Curse of the Law!
Galatians 3:13 (KJV)
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Here, we can see that because of what Jesus did for us, we have been redeemed, set free, disconnected from the Curse of the Law! What a blessing! This is just the tip of the iceberg of what Christ has done for us! He has taught us how to love. He has shown us that we have value and we can do ANYTHING with His help! He has provided a life that truly is a life of abundance! (John 10:10) He has given us the power of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in all truths! (John 16:13). He has become the way, the truth and the life for us!! (John 14:6). He laid down His life and suffered the most brutal execution of all time. HE gave His own life so we can live a life without the Law for remittance of sin. His body was broken so we can be healed!! Isaiah 53:5.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Once we fully grasp the fullness of who Jesus is and what He is doing in our lives, it only makes perfect sense that we tell everyone we can of what He has done for us! This is why I tell you, no matter who you are, you are not pardoned for the commandment he gave us to preach the Gospel! Think about it this way, if someone in your life gave you a gift.. Or maybe they did something to help you out. You wouldn't think twice to get on your social media platform and publicly thank them for their help or the blessing they bestowed in your life. If you would tell others the great things that your friends or family has done for you, why in the world would you not tell everyone you know about what God has done for you? Seriously, think about that for a minute. Before you keep reading... close your eyes and seriously think of all the amazing things that God has done for you.
Can you see it? Don't you realize that God has been so incredibly gracious with you! Now imagine every person that you know in your life, that doesn't know Jesus. Imagine their faces right now. Now, realize that if you choose to be selfish, and not tell them of the Love you have found in Christ, you are robbing them of the chance to know this Savior that has been so good to you! What if someone had never told you about Jesus? You would still be lost in this world, with no savior, and no hope of a future in Heaven. This is why I stress to you the absolute importance of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Don't think for a second that you arn't good enough, or that you need to be qualified by mans standards to preach the Gospel. The word Gospel simply means , GOOD NEWS! All Jesus is asking you to do is tell the world of the GOOD NEWS! Tell them how He has helped you! Tell them that once you were lost, but NOW you are found in Him! Tell them that there is nothing in this world that is impossible for you, because you have the King of Kings living inside you! Let's look at what Jesus asked us to do in Matthew 28.
Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)
