Everyone has struggles in life. Sometimes it's financial, sometimes its physical or emotional, sometimes it's spiritual. Whatever your struggles may be, life can seriously be tough. Jesus said plainly that we would have trouble in this world. (John 16:33). Jesus also made a incredible statement in that exact passage. He said, "take heart, I've overcome this world." We have talked about this before in previous blogs, but I really feel led to discuss it again on more of a personal level. I have been through hell and back in life. Everything from life threatening illness to drugs to abuse. You name it, I've most likely endured it. Often, people try to blame God for their misfortune. People have the tendency to run away from God when trouble comes, when they should be running towards Him. I've learned through many years of trials and tribulations, running away from God is the worst thing anyone can do. Sure, things might seem better for a while, Satan will make sure of that if he can. Satan doesn't care if you have more money than you can possibly imagine. As a matter of fact, he would prefer you be rich in finances, just as long as it keeps your focus off of Christ.
We have a tendency to assume that Satan wants us to struggle in life. Don't get me wrong, he certainly wants us to suffer, just not here. Satan knows that if we are peeking physically and financially, even emotionally, we still can suffer spiritually. In other words, he will assist in making sure you have what you need for a stress free environment in life, as long as you keep your eyes off of Christ. Never forget, Satan is first and foremost known as the deceiver. He will use whatever tools he has in his arsenal to keep your focus anywhere but on God and His Word. This is why he used the only power he has when he tempted Jesus. He used temporal things to try to tempt Jesus. Why? It's simple, it's all he has to offer. He doesn't have anything eternal to offer that's worthwhile whatsoever. Let's take a look how Jesus handled His encounter with satan in the desert..
Matthew 4:1-11 (KJV) 4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
You'll notice the first temptation satan uses against Jesus, is food. He saw that Jesus had been fasting and he knew that Jesus was physically weak and hungry. You gotta admit, as low as it was to tempt a man with food when His physical body is severely hungry, is low, but a valid attempt on satans part. But, our Lord Jesus knew better than to simply oblige and turn the stones into bread. You'll also notice that satan said, "IF.. your the son of God.." Years ago I was studying this passage and this jumped off the pages to me. The reason satan said , "IF..." is because he had no idea of Jesus really was the Messiah. It had been rumored for years that a man would come to redeem the world of sin. For years, the comping if the anointed one, Jesus, was prophesied long before Jesus shook the world with His arrival and birth. Satan had no idea if Jesus was the actual Messiah, or just another prophet. People often think that satan knows everything, which of course is a lie. IF, satan knew everything, he would have known who Jesus really was before he ever approached him in the desert.
Never spend too much time in hour life assuming that your adversary, the devil, has any sort of inside knowledge that could cripple you. He certainly doesn't know everything. Never has, never will. This is why satan uses deception as his primary weapon. He wants you to think that he knows your deepest thoughts. If he can convince you in believing that he truly knows everything, he knows that you will feel powerless against him. I honesty believe that you would be shocked if you ever actually met satan face to face. You would realize just how weak and pathetic he really is. He tries to paint a picture in peoples minds of himself being a all powerful force, when in reality he's so small he fits under your foot. Never give him that kind of credit. The day you surrender your authority and power over him, is the day you've lost the battle. Getting back to our story here, Jesus, of course refused to turn the stones into bread. Why did refuse? It's simple, the outward expression of the power of God was not made for temporal things that are unnecessary in life. Jesus could have turned those stones into a massive box of White Castle burgers if he desired, yet he told the devil, NO. First attempt of temptation, FAIL.
The next thing we see satan tempting Jesus with is once again, physical. He tells Jesus to throw himself off of the mountain. And if He really is the Son of God, the Lords Angels will come and catch Jesus, protecting Him. In other words, IF your the son of God, prove it. He was testing Jesus to see if he would oblige to a demonstration of proof of Jesus' connection to the Heavenly Father. Also, worth noting, is satan actually quoted Scripture here. This rat has no shame, no class, no boundaries as far as he's concerned. He noticed that Jesus quoted Scripture with the first temptation, so he figured he would quote scripture as well. Of course, Jesus refused this temptation. Jesus had nothing he had to prove to satan, and NEITHER DO YOU. In life, you'll come across people in this world, who like satan, will challenge you to prove your worth or place in life. YOU OWE THEM NOTHING. You have been made righteous because of Jesus Christ! Too attempt to prove your worth in this world, when YOU ALL READY have the heavenly fathers approval, would be ignorant and a massive waste of time and energy. So, Jesus, simply told the the devil, NO, once again.
Now, the 3rd temptation we see here is a little different than the first 2 attempts satan has made so far. The 3rd temptation was his attempt to appeal to Jesus' kingdom minded thought. Satan figured if Jesus really was the Messiah, that he would be tempted by power and authority over the earth. I have to say, I think this was probably the most idiotic attempt satan actually made out of the three temptations. Jesus, had all ready told him NO, twice. And now, satan tells him he can give him authority over the earth, just as long as he bows down and worships him? I'm honestly surprised by the stupidity of this attempt of satan. And of course, Jesus went straight to the Scripture, and said, NO. This continuation of refusal that Jesus has shown us here should be a very valuable lesson to us. The word NO, simply put a complete halt to the temptation. You can see here that Jesus, was single minded. He had all ready made up His mind before satan ever came to tempt Him, that he was ONLY about His Fathers business. He had all ready made the dedicated decision, that there is nothing in this world, worth compromising the fellowship and relationship we have with our Heavenly Father.
No sin, No temptation, is WORTH IT. People have told me in the past that they have a hard time saying, NO, to sin. The reality is, they obviously value the sin over God. If you think about it, it really is that simple. When you have decided to be a man or woman of God, you shouldn't have to think twice about temptation to sin. Sin, and the cares of this world, are the chains that had you bound for so many years until you gave your heart to the Lord. Going back to those sins, only to be chained to sin again, would simply be stupid. I know this sounds harsh, but really think about it! This is how I live. Every day, when temptation comes, I am reminded of what strings are attached to certain decisions in life. If, those strings can turn back into chains, my answer is NO. I don't care if I'm popular. I don't care if people like me or not. I don't care if I don't fit in with the crowd. I spent many years living purposely in sin. I remember the so called friends and the depression and bondage that came with it. So, NO THANK YOU.
In closing, I want you to realize that you have the choice to refuse sin and satan. Your life truly is dictated by your decisions. No one can make them for you. Sure, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we certainly can do everything we can to edify each other through accountability. But, at the end of the day, when your all alone, YOU, and only YOU can decide if your going to serve Christ or not. The reality of the return of Christ truly is evident. The signs of the times really do sign a song of progression more and more with each passing day. As you go throughout this week, please remember this.. YOU CAN SAY NO! YOU CAN CHOOSE A LIFE COMMITTED TO GODS WORD! YOU CAN DO IT! My prayer is that each and every one of you reading this realizes that you have the choice! Make it wisely, time is of essence. Until next time..

Depression, a state of mind that effects every aspect of life, physical, social, financial, spiritual. For years, I struggled with depression. There are so many elements that can be the makeup for depression. Often, people try to combat depression with expending too much time trying to find the source. When people get depressed, they have a tendency to look at their lives and the people and things around them, assuming they will find the root cause within their search. The truth is, depression is caused by something much deeper and constantly overlooked. Depression, always starts with a lie. Always. Satan, being the author of confusion, starts the process with a thought in the mind or uses someone to say or do something to you that kicks off the downward spiral. This is why the Bible says:
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
We can clearly see from this passage, that our enemy is not people, or circumstances. That's exactly what the devil wants you to think. He wants to convince you that your depression stems from mistreatment, or your environment. On the surface, this makes perfect sense to the natural train of thought. To blame others or circumstances for depression, makes sense, in the natural. The reality is, every bad thought, every bad circumstance, every word that has been fired at you with hate.. These things ONLY HAVE POWER WHEN YOU ALLOW THEM TO EFFECT YOU. If your reading this right now, you have to understand that YOU are in control of your thoughts and emotions. YOU have the choice to let what happens in life effect you. This is why the Word of God says:
1 Peter 5:7 KJV
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Regardless of what people say, or what they do to you, YOU have a choice. When you allow what others say or do to drive you into depression, YOUR GIVING THEM POWER THAT THEY DO NOT DESERVE. It's as if your truly surrendering the one thing that no one should ever be able to take from you, YOUR WILL TO CHOOSE. God graciously gave us the free will as men and woman to make decisions to; fight or flight, so to speak. When you feel like the cares of this world are too much to handle.. When you feel like there is no hope.. When you feel like nothing could ever bring a smile to your face again... REMEMBER THIS... You have a God in Heaven who loves you more than anyone else could ever dream of. He wants to be your sounding board. That's why He says to CAST ALL your cares (troubles, anxiety, fears,) on HIM! Even if all your "friends" or family has abandoned you, God still cares. His love for you is unmatched and truly a marvelous thing. He has watched you since you took your first breath here on earth. He watched your first steps, your first words, everything. He has been watching you grow from a seed in your mothers womb until this very second.
He pays attention to the details that you think no one else cares about. When you accomplish something, and it seems like no one cares, HE IS PROUD OF YOU. When you lay down at night, wondering why your still breathing, He is watching you, with tears in His eyes. He loves you and it's excruciating to Him to watch you suffer mentally. He gave you the free will to do whatever you desire, so start looking at your options. One thing is certain, You will ALWAYS have options. regardless of finances, you always have options in life. God made you creative. You have a incredible gift inside of you that allows you to make the best out of everything, regardless of situations. The devil will push thoughts in your head, telling you that your worthless, that you have no friends or family, telling you that no one cares. He will do anything he can to keep your focus and mind off of Jesus Christ. What you have to understand is; Satan knows that if you realized how much God truly loves and adores you, YOU WOULD REALIZE that the only one who is actually alone and miserable, is Satan.
Satan is jealous of you. He can never again find favor or forgiveness with God. He has been eternally separated from fellowship with God. This is why he does everything he can to convince you that your all alone with no hope. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE DEDICATED DECISION that satan is WRONG. You have potential! You are capable of becoming anything you want, if you want it bad enough! You are so important, that Jesus laid down His own life for you. He took every hit, every thorn, every nail, and suffered a brutal death for you. Jesus came to give us a life that is MORE THAN abundant! He desires nothing but the best for you. No matter what you've done in the past, no matter what... YOU CAN BE FORGIVEN and find freedom and smile once again. All you have to do is surrender to Him. Cry out to Him in your time of need. He will never leave you or forsake you. The whole world can turn their backs on you, But HE WILL BE WITH YOU AS LONG AS YOU ALLOW HIM.
People with depression are convinced that God is looking for people who don't make the mistakes you do. This of course is yet, another lie from satan. Jesus said he came to seek and save the LOST. He's not looking for people who are perfect. He's looking for people who are WILLING to try their absolute best to serve Him and be obedient to His Word. This surely doesn't happen overnight. This takes a lifetime to understand and complete. This is why a relationship with God is a lifetime commitment. Each year, no matter how great last year was or wasn't, presents a new opportunity, a new start. Each day, in the same respect, offers a new start. Depression will do it's best to remind you of the past. What Satan, and depression don't ever see is.. the future. Believe it or not, when you finally stop thinking and dwelling on the past, the only thing you will see IS THE FUTURE!
I'm going to be very transparent with you today. I have lived a life of sin. I have been depressed and suicidal. I spent years filled with sorrow, loneliness, and fake smiles when I could muster up the strength to pretend. The truth is, I never started truly recovering from and defeating depression until I refused to allow my past, to have any relevancy in my present. I had to realize that, for so long, I was giving over my power to choose for myself. I would let what other people said or thought dictate my opinion of myself. I came to the realization that, regardless if I have friends or not, I have value! I am capable of anything, I can achieve whatever I desire if I work as hard as possible with faith in cohesive , respectably.
I realized that, no matter what, I have a friend in Heaven, and His name is Jesus. The whole world can turn their backs on me, and yet I will never again be alone. All because I made the decision to make Jesus the Lord and Savior of my life. I accepted Him as my best friend. The only reason I am free today, is because of my relationship with Jesus Christ. NOT church, NOT religion, Only Jesus and His Word. I encourage you today, when you go throughout your day, to remember, your never alone. If you need help, Jesus is just a prayer away. He is with you always, even till the end of the age. Keep your head up, this battle won't be a easy one to win.. BUT.. when you do win, you will find more joy than you have ever experienced. Never forget who you are. You are awesome. You are capable. You are a blessing to this planet. Regardless of that others might say or think, you are victorious! Depression sucks, so kick it to the curb and allow the Word of God to shape your life and decisions. With God, You CANNOT LOSE!
Until Next Time...

Matthew 28:20 (KJV) 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Hey everyone! I want to take a minute and tell you whats been going on in my life. I have been taking a break from the website for a couple weeks for personal reflection. My wife and I are getting ready to move and make some possible career changes. It's been a crazy few weeks. I have been flying a lot and progressing in my flight training. I also have been spending some much needed time in prayer with the Lord about direction. My life has changed so drastically over the last 3-5 years. So much has happened and changed. Without getting into explicit detail, I have learned a lot in the prior years. Ministry has been so hit and miss at times. For those of you who feel a deep calling into the ministry, be prepared for anything. I say that with true sincerity. At one point in my life, I thought I had my position and place in Ministry figured out. I was under the impression that I would be Pastoring Creation Church until I died or Jesus returned. I never thought we would have closed that church, but sadly, we did.
One thing is certain, life can change at a seconds notice, but Gods Word never changes. Regardless of the struggles or curveballs we encounter, it's up to us to remain steadfast through the changes and stand on the Word of God. Like anyone, I have done everything I can possibly think of to remain in Ministry and remain faithful to Gods Word. But, like everyone, I also have made mistakes over the years and have gained knowledge each and every time. I have worked so hard to keep myself plugged into Ministry. I have inquired help from other Churches and Ministers, yet they are silent. They remain silent, because they don't see me as a Minister of Jesus Christ. They see a tattooed man who doesn't think or act like they do. They see a man who doesn't eat at the same restaurants or shop at the same stores at they do. They see unique. This is a threat and apparently a direct violation to their thinking and logic. The preconceived notion of a Minister is far from who I am, or who I will ever be.
I have no desire to be like other ministers. God didn't call me to one like them, he made me unique and a person who lives for individualism. God made me, well.. me. That's about the best way I can describe it. Without being entirely transparent, I will tell you that at times, it hurts. It hurts knowing that Churches and Ministers who claim to serve the same Jesus I do, don't act like Him at all. It hurts me to watch them reject me and gossip about me when they get together in their idiotic Ministers meetings and groups. Yet, regardless of feelings, I care not. My goal in life isn't to win the approval of so called minsters. My goal in life is to be used by God almighty for His purpose and to help people see who Jesus Christ really is. My passion, my heart, is to see people saved from death, hell, and the eternal grave.
Well, I think that's all I will share this week. My heart is heavy. Just remember, no matter what someone says about you.. NO matter what they think.. Pay them no attention. God created you and He loves you more than you could ever comprehend. Regardless if your perfect or not. Regardless of what you look like, Jesus loves each and every one of you. He loves you so much that He died for you. Never stop being, You. Make a effort every day to show people the Christ that's in you. Make an effort every day to grow in His Word. But most importantly, make an effort every day to make Jesus Christ, your number one priority. Until we talk again..
